Editorial methodology and sources

Scope

FarmingLand.ca is a national, cross-crop editorial reference on Canadian agricultural land. We publish orientation, structure and question sets. We do not publish land prices, yields, rental rates, soil ratings, market forecasts or invented listings. When numbers are relevant, we link to the primary source that publishes them.

Sources

Our primary sources include Statistics Canada, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, provincial ministries of agriculture and environment, provincial water and land authorities, and municipal registries. We reference statute by name and link to the current published version. We do not paraphrase statute in ways that could substitute for legal counsel.

Review

Every article carries a review date. Reviews check that linked sources still resolve, that statute names remain current, that our framing has not become misleading and that no editorial drift has occurred. Reviews are performed by the FRSH Agriculture editorial team.

What this site is not

Distinguishing editorial from advertising

Where FRSH Agriculture properties reference each other — CanolaFields.ca, CropSeeds.ca, SeedPrices.ca — we identify the relationship. FarmingLand.ca does not accept paid placement inside editorial content.
